MORENO GLACIER     Moreno Glacier is 85 km. from El Calafate ,the most important of the 13 glaciers in Los Glaciares National Park and a worldly known attraction for the incredible breaking of the ice. Nature here offers a unique experience of infinite peace, unpolluted air, and the silence of immensity only iterrupted by the movement of the glacier when its immense blocks of ice fall in Canal de los Témpanos in an astounding clamor. You can visit the glacier in different ways, like nautic excursions sailing in Lake Rico, in the southern branch of Lake Argentino, or hiking from the bay of "Bajo las Sombras", 6 km. before the mirador of the Glacier. Walking on the glacier is a unique experience for which we recommend to follow a touring guide, since they will lead you on a safer trail

MINITREKKING     One of the most interesting activities carried out at the Glacier in the tour that starts out at Bajo Las Sombras Bay, 8 km before getting to the Glacier. There you board a boat to cross the Rico Arm, and sail approximately 20 minutes along the Glacier front. You debark on the opposite shore and walk 30 minutes through the forest till you reach the glacier. Special spikes are adjusted to your footwear before starting the hour and a half trek on ice. Later on you walk for about 30 minutes through the lush Magallanic forest up to the shelter where you have an hour´s time for luch. Finally you sail back to Bajo Las Sombras Bay,

NAUTICAL SAFARI     This tour starts off at the pier of Bajo Las Sombras. The boat sails along the lateral wall of the glaciers at about a 300 meter distance. Since the Perito Moreno is viewed from water level, thgis enables an accurate idea of the real height of its peaks or towers (60 meters above lake level) This hour long excursion is a good complement to the Perito Moreno Glacier Excursion.

UPSALA EXPLORER     Afer an hour and a half sailing among icebergs from the Puerto Bandera Port, along the north arm of Argentino Lake you reach the front of Upsala Glacier. Further on, you disembark at Estancia Cristina to take an off-road vehicle to drive up to the Upsala Glacier lookout. The scenery displays the receding glacier, leaving revealing signs of prehistoric sea life. Once back at the Cristina ranch, a typical lunch is offer. Before leavinf tea with cake is served. There are also alternative horseback or hikes.

OFF ROAD RIDES     The truck will pick you up where you indicate it to start your 15 km. expedition through these winding roads you will never forget. Leaving from El Calafate you reach 1050 m. above sea level through the clay and pebble trail on the east face of Huyliche range. While travelling cross-country the vehicle will go up and down and incline to the sides. When you reach the Balcony you will have a panoramic view of the village and the east part of Lake Argentino, and if the sky is clear you can also see mounts Chaltén and Torre, and watch the condors fly. This route has been traced to cross the best looking places and fully enjoy the experience

HORSEBACK RIDING     There are different options, all of wich include a local guide. Short ride to LA Redonda Bay, bordering the coast of the Argentino Lake flamingos and black-neck swans can often be seen along the way - up to lookout for a panoramic view of El Calafate (2 hours) Long ride to Walichu Caves, also bordering the cost of the lake. Lunch on the way.
