This property belongs to Nunez Family. Staying at Estancia Santa
Ines makes you feel part of the history of the region. Registered
in the official records was the fact that this property was
the first place where yerba mate (green tea) was cultivated
in an open field. In the past, when the Jesuits owned the land,
the yerba was cultivated under the protection of the jungle
trees, but then a Spanish immigrant, stubborn and perseverant,
had the plants grow in the an open surface of 1200 Has. Ana
María Nuñez does not exaggerate when she says
this colonial house of English style has “magic”
in the air. In the huge dining room, by the fireplace and guarded
by Remington fusils, a harquebus, a scimitar is the war spear
of don Angel Acuña, the heroe of the Triple Alliance
war.
